Our client is a well-established and highly regarded civil engineering and highways contractor with a strong presence across the North West. Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, based in Trafford Park, working on a diverse portfolio of highways and improvement works across the region. You will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-start through to final account, working closely with site and project teams to ensure commercial success.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of highways and improvement works projects.
- Preparing interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Monitoring project costs, budgets, and cash flow.
- Procuring and managing subcontractor packages, including negotiation and agreement of terms.
- Producing accurate cost reports, forecasts, and commercial updates.
- Supporting project teams in identifying risks, opportunities, and cost efficiencies.
- Ensuring compliance with contract conditions, particularly NEC contracts.
- Building strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
What you will need to succeed:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within highways or civil engineering.
- Experience working on highways improvement or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Confident communication and negotiation abilities.
- A proactive, organised, and commercially focused approach.
- Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
