About the CompanyA leading property developer with a strong track record in delivering high-quality residential housing is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. The company focuses on creating sustainable, well-designed communities and has an exciting pipeline of new build housing projects across the UK.
The RoleWe are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of residential new build projects. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, working closely with project managers, contractors, and suppliers.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
Leading cost planning, forecasting, and budget management across multiple residential projects
Preparing and reviewing valuations, progress claims, and final accounts
Managing tender processes and subcontractor quotations
Providing commercial advice to the project team throughout the development lifecycle
Ensuring compliance with contracts, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements
Mentoring and supporting junior QS staff
The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will be a highly skilled, commercially focused professional with proven experience in residential new build projects. Strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:
Relevant QS qualification (MRICS preferred)
Significant experience in residential new build projects
Expertise in procurement, cost management, contract administration and risk management
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and project management software
Excellent communication, leadership and team management abilities
