About the Company: Our client is a respected, forward-thinking M&E contractor known for delivering high-quality building services solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, and industrial sectors. Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic design team.
The Role: As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the end-to-end design of mechanical building services systems. Working closely with project managers, electrical engineers, and external consultants, you will ensure designs meet client requirements, project timelines, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed mechanical designs, schematics, and calculations for HVAC, public health, and associated building services.
- Prepare design documentation including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to coordinate design information.
- Carry out site surveys, inspections, and support commissioning activities where required.
- Ensure all designs meet relevant regulations, standards, and health & safety guidelines.
- Support tenders and provide technical input during bid preparation.
About You: Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering. Proven experience within an M&E contractor or building services consultancy. Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems design. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant calculation tools (e.g., Hevacomp, IES). Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.
