They provide technical expertise, product selection, project support, and aftermarket services, working closely with customers to deliver reliable, efficient fluid handling solutions. With a reputation built on technical knowledge, customer service, and quality, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Senior Sales Engineer / Sales Manager.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technical sales professional with a strong background in pumps and fluid handling equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer enquiries from initial specification through to quotation, order completion and ongoing customer support. Working closely with both new and existing customers, you will combine your technical expertise with commercial awareness to develop long-term customer relationships, identify new business opportunities and help drive continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer enquiries from initial pump selection through to quotation, contract review and aftersales support.
  • Select and specify a wide range of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps based on customer applications and requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and support to customers on pump selection and system design.
  • Identify and source spare parts using technical drawings, manuals and product documentation.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing key accounts.
  • Generate new business opportunities through customer visits, networking and market development.
  • Conduct customer site visits to understand applications and provide technical solutions.
  • Prepare quotations, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Assist with project planning, procurement and sourcing of Bill of Materials (BOM) components.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales documentation.
  • Work in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures and maintain high standards of record keeping.

Experience with some or all of the following pump types would be highly advantageous:

  • Centrifugal pumps
  • Rotary lobe pumps
  • Progressive cavity pumps
  • Air Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pumps
  • Rotary vane pumps
  • Gear pumps
  • Cold water booster sets
  • Piston pumps

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven experience within the pump, fluid handling or process equipment industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of centrifugal and/or positive displacement pumps.
  • Experience handling customer enquiries from technical selection through to order completion.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience identifying and sourcing spare parts.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a consultative sales approach.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience managing key customer accounts.
  • Previous sales management or senior sales engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of procurement and Bill of Materials preparation.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems.
  • Engineering qualification (Mechanical or similar).
