About the Company
A leading and well-established construction and development business delivering major residential and mixed-use schemes across the UK. With a strong reputation for delivering high-profile projects, the company specialises in large-scale high-rise residential and Build-to-Rent developments, with project values ranging from £20 million to £150 million. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of two experienced Quantity Surveyors.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Quantity Surveyors to join a major project team delivering complex high-rise Build-to-Rent developments in Manchester. Working closely with the Commercial Manager and wider project team, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring financial performance and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the commercial aspects of high-rise residential / BTR projects
- Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
- Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting contract administration and ensuring contractual compliance
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
- Managing subcontractor payments and negotiations
- Assisting with reporting to senior management and stakeholders
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:
- Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Strong background delivering high-rise residential or Build-to-Rent (BTR) projects
- Experience working on projects valued between £20 million and £150 million
- Strong knowledge of commercial management and contract administration
- Experience managing subcontractor procurement and accounts
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment
