A leading contractor is recruiting an experienced Design Manager to support the delivery of large-scale city centre residential developments in Manchester.
This role will manage design packages from pre-construction through to site delivery, ensuring designs are buildable, cost-effective, fully coordinated, and compliant with all statutory and warranty requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor the design programme with internal teams and external consultants
- Coordinate consultants and trade design packages to meet programme and quality targets
- Review and challenge design information throughout development and construction
- Attend design team and site meetings to support delivery on site
- Ensure compliance with Planning, Building Control, Warranty Provider, and statutory requirements
- Liaise with specialist subcontractors and statutory utility providers
- Support resolution of technical and buildability issues on site
Requirements
- Experience as a Design Manager in both pre-construction and construction phases of projects
- Proven experience on large residential projects is preferred
- Background working for a Developer or Main Contractor
- Proactive self-starter with strong technical and coordination skills
