The Role
- Managing the commercial delivery of multiple construction projects from pre‑contract through to final account
- Preparing and managing cost plans, valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
- Producing accurate CVRs, cost forecasts, and commercial reports
- Monitoring project costs and ensuring commercial performance is maximised
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
- Administering contracts and ensuring contractual compliance
- Working closely with Project Managers and operational teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team where required
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a Main Contractor environment
- Experience delivering projects across sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial, industrial, residential, or public sector developments
- Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
- Experience managing projects through the full commercial lifecycle
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Membership of RICS or working towards chartered status would be advantageous
