About the Company
Our client is a well-established specialist fit out and refurbishment contractor delivering high-quality commercial interiors across the UK. Working in partnership with both public and private sector clients, they deliver office fit outs, workplace refurbishments, planned maintenance, and framework projects, creating modern, functional spaces tailored to client requirements. Continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work have created an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The Role
- Assisting with the commercial management of fit out and refurbishment projects from pre-contract through to final account
- Supporting the preparation of subcontractor enquiries, procurement, and contract documentation
- Assisting with valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts
- Monitoring project costs and assisting with CVRs and cost reporting
- Supporting budget management and cost forecasting
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation
- Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and the wider commercial team
- Building strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
- Assisting with identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
- Supporting the successful commercial delivery of projects across office fit out, refurbishment, and framework contracts
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Experience within fit out, refurbishment, interiors, or main contracting would be advantageous
- A good understanding of commercial processes and cost management
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
- Degree qualified or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Full UK Driving Licence
