Working with a portfolio of well-known national brands, the business delivers projects ranging from small works through to major contracts valued up to £3 million. With a strong emphasis on health & safety, quality, and employing experienced in-house site teams, they continue to enjoy sustained growth and are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor.

The Role

  • Preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive tender submissions for commercial fit-out and shopfitting projects
  • Producing detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications
  • Procuring subcontractors and obtaining competitive supplier quotations
  • Managing projects commercially from tender stage through to final account
  • Preparing interim valuations, variations, applications for payment, and final accounts
  • Producing CVRs, cost reports, and commercial forecasts
  • Identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
  • Working closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, and Directors to ensure successful project delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Supporting the smooth handover of projects from pre-construction through to delivery

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or in a combined QS/Estimator role
  • Experience within commercial fit-out, shopfitting, interiors, or refurbishment would be highly advantageous
  • Strong commercial awareness and estimating ability
  • Experience preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Good understanding of JCT contracts
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and IT skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and live projects simultaneously
  • Full UK Driving Licence
