Our client is a growing and well‑respected main contractor delivering refurbishment, social housing upgrades, fit‑out schemes and external cladding remediation projects across the North West. With a strong pipeline of secured work and long‑standing client relationships, they are recognised for delivering high‑quality projects with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and sustainability. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their commercial team in Warrington.
Your new role
Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong refurbishment background to join their established pre‑construction team based in Warrington. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in social housing, internal/external refurbishment, fit‑out and cladding remediation to play a key role in securing and pricing a diverse range of projects. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders while working closely with the commercial, operational and design teams to ensure commercially sound submissions.
Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for refurbishment, social housing, fit‑out and cladding remediation schemes.
- Completing full take‑offs from drawings and specifications.
- Producing bills of quantities and pricing schedules.
- Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Identifying value engineering opportunities and risk factors.
- Attending site visits and pre‑tender meetings.
- Liaising with clients, consultants and supply chain partners throughout the tender process.
- Assisting in tender adjudications and final submissions.
- Monitoring market rates and maintaining an up‑to‑date cost database.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the refurbishment sector.
- Strong background in social housing, internal/external refurbishment, fit‑out and/or external wall cladding remediation.
- Good understanding of building regulations and compliance, particularly in relation to building safety and façade works.
- Excellent commercial awareness and cost management capability.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- Full UK driving licence.
