The Opportunity
You will take a lead role in the commercial management of infrastructure projects, working across sectors such as highways, rail, utilities, and major public realm developments. From early-stage cost planning through to final account, you will be trusted to provide accurate commercial insight and add real value to both clients and project teams. You’ll be joining a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment where your input will directly influence project outcomes, and where your professional development is actively supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full commercial ownership of civils and infrastructure projects from inception to completion
- Lead cost planning, estimating, and budgeting activities
- Manage procurement strategies and tender processes
- Administer contracts (NEC preferred), including variations, compensation events, and claims
- Produce accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
- Provide strategic advice and challenge to clients and stakeholders
- Support and mentor junior surveyors, contributing to team growth
About You
- Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure or civil engineering projects (essential)
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial frameworks
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially driven
- Experience managing multiple projects or complex workstreams
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (or equivalent experience)
- Working towards or already chartered (RICS or equivalent) is advantageous
