Job Title: Civil Engineering Estimator Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy civils, reinforced concrete (RC) frames, and concrete cores, with the ability to prepare comprehensive take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs). This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of complex and high-value projects within the construction industry. Key Responsibilities: Estimating and Cost Analysis: Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil engineering projects, including RC frames and concrete cores. Analyze project drawings, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate take-offs and BOQs. Evaluate project risks and provide recommendations for cost-saving opportunities. Tender Preparation: Collaborate with the pre-construction and project management teams to compile comprehensive tender submissions. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure accurate cost estimates. Review and assess tender documents, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with design, planning, and commercial teams to ensure alignment of estimates with project objectives. Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings with clients and stakeholders as required. Maintain clear communication with all parties to ensure accurate interpretation of project specifications. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of estimates, take-offs, and BOQs for internal and external use. Provide regular updates to senior management on project cost estimates and progress. Ensure all estimates and related documentation are completed within required deadlines. Requirements: Proven experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering or construction industry. In-depth knowledge of heavy civils, RC frames, and concrete cores. Proficient in producing take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from engineering drawings and specifications. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards. Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, or similar). Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field (degree or equivalent). Preferred Qualifications: Membership in a professional body such as RICS, CIOB, or ICE. Experience with large-scale or complex civil engineering projects. Familiarity with current market trends and pricing in the construction industry.
