Due to continued growth and a healthy order book, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their commercial team based in Bolton.
Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil engineering projects.
- Reviewing tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
- Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions during the tender process.
- Liaising with operational teams to develop competitive and deliverable bid strategies.
- Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings where required.
- Producing pricing schedules, bills of quantities, and tender reports.
- Supporting negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Maintaining accurate records of estimates and tender submissions.
- Assisting in the continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in an Estimator or Senior Estimator role within the civil engineering sector.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure projects including highways, water, drainage, utilities, or general civils.
- Experience pricing projects ranging from small works through to multi-million-pound contracts.
- Excellent understanding of construction methods, contracts, and procurement routes.
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience working with estimating software and Microsoft Office packages.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and organised approach with strong attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
