Estimator - Shopfitting & Interior Fit-Out Location: Blackpool Salary: £45,000-£65,000 + Excellent Benefits Package Job Type: Permanent About the Company Our client is a well-established shopfitting and design & build contractor based in Blackpool, delivering high-quality interior fit-out projects across the UK. The business works across a wide range of sectors, including food & beverage, leisure and hotels, retail, workspace and sporting venues. Its clients include some of the UK's best-known high street and hospitality brands. It offers a full turnkey service, covering shopfitting, design & build contracting, in-house bespoke joinery manufacturing, electrical installations and renewable energy solutions. With a strong reputation for quality and for delivering on time and within budget, the business is continuing to grow and is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join its commercial team. The Role This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator with a background in shopfitting, interior fit-out, joinery or commercial interiors. You will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive tenders for a varied range of fit-out projects. You'll work from initial enquiry through to tender submission and handover to the delivery team. The role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, producing detailed take-offs, obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations, and building cost plans that win work while protecting margin. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate and competitive estimates and tenders for shopfitting and fit-out projects. Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and client requirements. Carry out detailed quantity take-offs and measurements. Source, issue and analyse subcontractor and supplier enquiries and quotations. Liaise with the in-house joinery manufacturing team to price bespoke elements. Produce cost plans, budgets and value engineering options. Identify risks, opportunities, exclusions and assumptions within tenders. Attend client meetings, site visits and tender reviews as required. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers. Maintain and develop cost databases and estimating procedures. Hand successful tenders over to the commercial and project delivery teams. Support, mentor and develop junior and assistant estimators. Work closely with directors, designers and project managers to secure new work.Requirements Proven experience as an Estimator within shopfitting, interior fit-out, joinery or a related sector. Strong understanding of fit-out construction methods, materials and costs. Experience pricing projects within retail, hospitality, leisure or commercial environments would be highly advantageous. Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications accurately. Experience using estimating and measurement software. Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Able to manage multiple tenders and work to tight deadlines. Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction or similar would be desirable.
