Our client is a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with a rich heritage spanning more than 150 years. Operating across the UK, they deliver a broad range of projects within the water, highways, drainage, flood alleviation, energy, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work across the North East, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Teesside.
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
- Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
- Procuring and administering subcontractor packages.
- Managing subcontractor accounts and payment applications.
- Identifying, pricing, and negotiating variations and compensation events.
- Producing accurate cost forecasts, budgets, and financial reports.
- Preparing monthly cost value reconciliations and commercial reports.
- Monitoring project performance and identifying opportunities to maximise profitability.
- Managing commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will have:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, highways, energy, or water sectors.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial procedures.
- Experience managing subcontractor procurement and commercial accounts.
- Excellent financial and commercial awareness.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial management software.
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence.
