Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Fit-Out & Joinery Projects

Skelmersdale, North West - Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum + package

Your new company: A well-established and growing main contractor and specialist subcontractor delivering high-quality joinery, fit-out, and refurbishment projects across the North West and nationally. With a strong reputation for craftsmanship and project delivery, the business works across both commercial and residential sectors on projects up to £2million.

Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team. This is a dual-role position combining estimating and surveying responsibilities, giving you full project lifecycle involvement from tender stage through to final account. You will play a key role in pricing work, managing costs, and ensuring commercial success across multiple fit-out and joinery projects.

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for fit-out and joinery projects
  • Analysing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to produce accurate pricing
  • Managing project costs from pre-construction through to completion
  • Preparing and submitting valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Negotiating with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Procuring subcontract packages and materials in line with project budgets
  • Monitoring project financial performance and reporting to senior management
  • Identifying risks and opportunities within tenders and live projects
  • Supporting project teams with commercial advice and cost control
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners

What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator role within fit-out, joinery, or refurbishment sectors
  • Strong knowledge of construction costs, estimating, and commercial management
  • Experience working on projects up to £2million
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications accurately
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and projects simultaneously
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software
