Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team based in Manchester. This role will involve managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects, with a focus on design and build refurbishment schemes across blue light and commercial sectors, with project values up to £15 million. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the wider project team.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the commercial delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account
- Preparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Procurement and management of subcontract packages
- Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitoring project costs and ensuring financial targets are achieved
- Managing risk and identifying commercial opportunities
- Liaising closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members where required
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have strong experience working for a main contractor on refurbishment and design & build projects within the commercial or public sector. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
- Experience delivering blue light, public sector, or commercial construction projects
- Strong knowledge of design and build refurbishment projects
- Experience working on projects up to £15 million in value
- Strong commercial awareness and contract administration skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred
