Our client is an established and growing residential construction contractor specialising in high-quality Design & Build developments. With an expanding portfolio of projects ranging from £5m to £100m, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager to take responsibility for the commercial and operational delivery of major residential schemes.
The Role
- As Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager, you will take a senior role in the successful delivery of residential Design & Build projects, combining strong commercial management with project leadership.
- Taking responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of residential projects.
- Managing projects from pre-construction through to completion and final account.
- Managing project budgets, forecasts, CVRs, cash flow, and cost control.
- Leading subcontract procurement and managing subcontractor accounts.
- Managing valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts.
- Monitoring project programmes, costs, quality, and delivery.
- Working closely with site teams and senior management to drive project performance.
- Managing client, consultant, subcontractor, and supplier relationships.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Reviewing contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Providing regular commercial and project performance reports to senior management.
- Supporting the development of junior commercial and project team members.
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong experience within residential construction.
- Proven experience delivering Design & Build residential projects.
- Experience working on projects valued between £5m and £100m.
- Strong Quantity Surveying and commercial management experience.
- Previous Project Management experience would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts and project delivery.
- Strong experience with CVRs, forecasting, procurement, valuations, and final accounts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple project priorities effectively.
- Relevant Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent qualification.
