Salary/Package - £65,000 - £75,000 + Excellent Benefits Package
About the Company
Our client is an established and growing residential construction contractor specialising in high-quality Design & Build developments. The business delivers major residential schemes and has built a strong reputation for quality project delivery, commercial management, and long-term client relationships.
With an expanding portfolio of projects ranging from £5m to £100m, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager to take responsibility for the commercial and operational delivery of major residential schemes.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager, you will take a senior role in the successful delivery of residential Design & Build projects, combining strong commercial management with project leadership.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Taking responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of residential projects
- Managing projects from pre-construction through to completion and final account
- Managing project budgets, forecasts, CVRs, cash flow, and cost control
- Leading subcontract procurement and managing subcontractor accounts
- Managing valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts
- Monitoring project programmes, costs, quality, and delivery
- Working closely with site teams and senior management to drive project performance
- Managing client, consultant, subcontractor, and supplier relationships
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
- Reviewing contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Providing regular commercial and project performance reports to senior management
- Supporting the development of junior commercial and project team members
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Senior QS / Project Manager will have:
- Strong experience within residential construction
- Proven experience delivering Design & Build residential projects
- Experience working on projects valued between £5m and £100m
- Strong Quantity Surveying and commercial management experience
- Previous Project Management experience would be highly advantageous
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts and project delivery
- Strong experience with CVRs, forecasting, procurement, valuations, and final accounts
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple project priorities effectively
- Relevant Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent qualification
