The Role
Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Manager to join their office-based team. You will spend a significant amount of time reviewing architectural drawings, technical specifications and CAD information, so the ability to work through detailed technical documentation with a high level of accuracy is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing architectural and technical drawings
- Analysing detailed enquiry information and project requirements
- Translating complex technical information into clear and concise requirements
- Acting as the interface between clients, customers and the internal design team
- Reviewing technical specifications and identifying key project requirements
- Reviewing CAD files and detailed drawing packages
- Identifying technical issues, inconsistencies and potential design considerations
- Supporting the pre-construction process from initial enquiry through to design development
- Working closely with design, estimating and commercial teams
- Attending client meetings and providing technical input where required
- Communicating technical requirements clearly to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring technical information is accurate and complete before progressing projects
- Managing and reviewing large volumes of technical documentation
- Supporting the preparation of technical proposals and project information
- Maintaining accurate records of drawings, specifications and technical requirements
- Assisting with resolving technical queries during the pre-construction process
- Ensuring information is communicated effectively between the client and design teams
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Technical Manager will ideally have:
- Previous experience working within construction, building envelope, technical design or a related environment
- Strong experience reviewing architectural drawings and technical information
- Ability to interpret and understand detailed construction drawings
- Experience working with CAD files and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of technical specifications
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to process and retain large amounts of technical information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence attending client meetings and communicating technical information
