About the Company

Our client is a well-established and highly respected main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across the North of England. With extensive experience across the commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, residential, retail, leisure, public sector, and student accommodation sectors, they successfully deliver new build, refurbishment, fit-out, and Design & Build projects valued up to £10 million. Renowned for their collaborative approach, financial stability, and commitment to quality, the business has built long-standing relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners through repeat business and framework agreements. With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued investment in their people and processes, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team based in Warrington.

The Role

  • Managing the commercial delivery of construction projects from contract award through to final account
  • Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts
  • Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
  • Producing accurate CVRs, cost forecasts, and commercial reports
  • Monitoring project costs to maximise profitability and commercial performance
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
  • Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
  • Working closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager with reporting and strategic commercial decisions

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor within a Main Contractor environment
  • Experience delivering projects across commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, residential, or public sector developments
  • Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
  • Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
  • Experience managing projects through the full commercial lifecycle
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Membership of RICS or working towards chartered status would be advantageous
