Our client, a leading electrical contractor, is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, delivering innovative electrical solutions across low voltage (LV) systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate project objectives into practical, compliant electrical designs.
- Design, specify, and model electrical installations, including load calculations, fault level assessments, and protective device coordination.
- Ensure all designs and on-site work comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Develop technical specifications for electrical equipment.
- Present design concepts clearly through meetings, technical documentation, and detailed drawings.
- Act as a technical representative in client and contractor meetings, demonstrating expertise and professionalism.
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitor on-site activities to maintain project integrity.
- Manage project delivery aspects with a focus on budget, cost control, and timely execution.
- Produce detailed reports and maintain accurate project records.
- Foster collaboration and effective communication across multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- HND/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (essential).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design, ideally within utility or connection projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electrical modelling software such as Amtech, ETAP, or Power Factory.
- Familiarity with relevant technical standards.
- Strong report writing skills and basic AutoCAD proficiency.
- IET registration or willingness to obtain professional registration in the near future.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to manage workload independently.
