About the Company

Our client is a well-established and highly respected organisation operating within the construction, development and property services sector across the North West. Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking an experienced and commercially astute Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their senior leadership team in Liverpool.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to lead the delivery of a diverse construction and development portfolio valued at approximately £40m annually. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the successful candidate will manage a team of commercial professionals while taking overall responsibility for commercial governance, financial performance and contractual management across multiple projects throughout the North West. You will play a key role in driving business performance, protecting commercial interests and supporting the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing commercial team
  • Managing the monthly CVR process, ensuring accurate reporting and forecasting
  • Overseeing cost control, cashflow management and commercial performance across multiple schemes
  • Administering and managing contracts including JCT and NEC forms
  • Protecting and enhancing the company's commercial position through effective risk management
  • Managing final accounts and supporting proactive dispute avoidance
  • Supporting business planning, resource allocation and financial target delivery
  • Providing strategic commercial input to operational and pre-construction teams
  • Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders
  • Driving continuous improvement across commercial procedures and financial controls
  • Ensuring compliance with Health
