Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join their growing team, supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects across North and South Cumbria. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven construction professional with a strong background in the water and/or wastewater sector, who is looking to play a key role in delivering complex civil engineering schemes from inception through to completion.
The Role
As Senior Construction Manager, you will lead the safe and successful delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will work closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders, providing leadership throughout the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage construction activities across multiple projects.
- Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve programme milestones.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Monitor project performance, programme, costs, and resource allocation.
- Mentor and develop site management teams.
- Drive continuous improvement and promote best practice across projects.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant experience in a Senior Construction Manager or similar leadership role.
- A strong background delivering water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience managing civil engineering schemes from pre-construction through to completion.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and programme management experience.
- Relevant industry qualifications (SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, etc.) and a full UK driving licence.
