About the Role

As a Leasehold Officer, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality, comprehensive service to Torus leaseholders, shared owners, Rent to Buy tenants, and freeholders. You'll manage a varied caseload, support customers through key processes, and ensure our statutory and contractual obligations are met. This is a diverse and rewarding role where no two days are the same - from managing Right to Buy applications to supporting shared ownership re-sales, arrears recovery, and leasehold queries.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage Right to Buy (RTB) and Right to Acquire (RTA) applications through to completion, including eligibility checks and discount calculations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all leasehold management matters.
  • Deliver an effective arrears recovery service, including enforcement action, court applications (MCOL/PCOL), and attending hearings when required.
  • Provide full tenancy and property management for Rent to Buy customers - from viewings and sign-ups to Section 21 notices and tenancy support.
  • Support Shared Owners with viewings, sign-ups, staircasing, and re-sales.
  • Liaise with internal teams on major works, statutory consultation, service charge accuracy, and financial compliance.
  • Work closely with Managing Agents on estate fees, ground rent, and management issues.
  • Process leaseholder applications requiring consent and take action on breaches of lease.
  • Attend First Tier Tribunal hearings when needed.
  • Represent the Leasehold Team at new build site meetings and support defect reporting.
  • Ensure void Rent to Buy properties are inspected, secure, and re-let within agreed timescales.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience using housing-related IT systems.
  • Strong numeracy, organisational skills, and the ability to work to performance targets.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with customers, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Experience working with the public and managing your own workload effectively.
  • Experience in leasehold management, arrears recovery, or RTB/RTA processing.
