We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist client for an experienced Heritage Pointer to join a growing team working across prestigious restoration and conservation projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with a passion for traditional craftsmanship and heritage work to contribute to the preservation of historic buildings and landmarks.

About the Role

This is a varied, hands-on position involving work on heritage, ecclesiastical, and conservation projects. You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality restoration work on historic structures using traditional materials and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out repointing works using traditional lime mortars
  • Repairing and restoring brick, stone, and masonry on historic buildings
  • Matching existing pointing styles to ensure a sympathetic finish
  • Undertaking sensitive restoration and conservation work
  • Working with materials such as sandstone, limestone, brick, terracotta, and lime mortar
  • Operating safely on-site using hand and power tools
  • Working both independently and as part of a team across varied site locations

Requirements

  • Proven experience in heritage pointing, masonry repair, or conservation work
  • Strong knowledge of traditional lime mortars and pointing techniques
  • Experience working with historic building materials
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards
