Our Client are a bespoke British property development company specialising in property investment, construction management, and premium building materials trading. Due to our continued growth, they are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join their finance team at their Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in accounting, with genuine opportunities for professional development and career progression within a growing and ambitious business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Accountant with day-to-day accounting duties.
- Carry out basic bookkeeping, including processing purchase and sales invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems.
- Perform bank and supplier statement reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Assist with preparing financial reports and management information.
- Undertake general administrative duties to support the finance function.
- Prepare spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Produce and edit documents using Microsoft Word.
- Liaise professionally with colleagues, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping, accounts assistant, or junior accounting role is preferred.
- AAT qualification (or studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA) is advantageous but not essential.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
