Delivering complete building envelope solutions, they work on complex residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, providing expertise in cladding, brick slips, external wall insulation (EWI), rendering, steel framing systems, glazing, and curtain walling. \n Working as both a Principal Contractor and Specialist Subcontractor, the business has established an excellent reputation for delivering technically challenging façade schemes in line with the latest building safety regulations. With a strong pipeline of remediation and new-build projects, continued growth has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join their pre-construction team in Manchester. \n \nThe Role\n \n As Estimator, you will be responsible for: \n \n \n Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for façade and building envelope projects \n \n Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation \n \n Producing detailed quantity take-offs, cost plans, and pricing schedules \n \n Obtaining and evaluating quotations from suppliers and specialist subcontractors \n \n Preparing comprehensive tender submissions within required deadlines \n \n Identifying value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions \n \n Assessing commercial and technical risks throughout the tender process \n \n Attending tender adjudication meetings and supporting bid strategy \n \n Working closely with the commercial, design, and operational teams throughout the pre-construction phase \n \n Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors \n \n Supporting successful project handovers to the commercial and delivery teams following contract award \n \n \nThe Ideal Candidate\n \n The successful Estimator will have: \n \n \n Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry \n \n Experience within façades, cladding, remediation, external wall insulation (EWI), glazing, curtain walling, or the wider building envelope sector would be highly advantageous \n \n Alternatively, estimating experience with a Main Contractor delivering major construction projects will also be considered \n \n Strong understanding of construction methods, estimating principles, and procurement \n \n Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills \n \n Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications \n \n Strong negotiation and communication skills \n \n Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and estimating software \n \n A proactive, organised, and commercially driven approach \n \n Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline would be advantageous \n \n \nWhat's on Offer\n \n \n \n Competitive basic salary of £55,000 - £70,000 \n \n Attractive benefits package \n \n Opportunity to join a market-leading façade contractor \n \n Exposure to high-profile remediation and new-build projects across the UK \n \n Long-term career progression within a growing pre-construction team \n \n Ongoing professional development and training \n \n Supportive and collaborative working environment \n \n Apply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris. \n Building Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
