Overview
We are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Floor Layer to join a leading social housing contractor operating across the North West. This role offers an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in flooring installations within occupied and void social housing properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Install a range of flooring types including vinyl, laminate, safety flooring, and cap and cove flooring in social housing properties.
- Carry out works in both occupied and vacant homes while minimising disruption to tenants.
- Prepare sub-floors, including levelling and ensuring surfaces are ready for installation.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship in line with health and safety regulations.
- Work efficiently to meet job deadlines and productivity targets.
- Liaise with site managers and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Floor Layer within residential or social housing environments.
- Competent in fitting vinyl, laminate, safety flooring, cap and cove flooring, and wet room/wet floor systems.
- Must have experience installing cap and cove flooring and wet floors.
- Good knowledge of sub-floor preparation techniques.
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
- Full UK Driving Licence - essential.
- Must have own transport for the temporary period. A company van will be provided if offered a permanent position.
- CSCS Card - essential.
