We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Air Conditioning Engineer to join a specialist mechanical contractor operating across commercial and care environments throughout the UK. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with an immediate start available, offering long-term, stable work for the right candidate.
Please note: this role involves regular UK-wide travel, so flexibility to work away from home when required is essential.
The Role:
- You will be responsible for carrying out the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of commercial air conditioning systems within live care home and commercial environments.
- Duties will include:
- Installation and commissioning of commercial air conditioning systems
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of HVAC equipment
- Working on split systems, multi-split systems, VRV/VRF systems, and heat pumps
- Refrigerant leak detection and repairs
- System testing and performance checks
- Completing service reports and compliance documentation
- Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Working within live care home and commercial environments
- Travelling to sites across the UK as required
Requirements:
- Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Air Conditioning Refrigeration, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or equivalent
- F-Gas Category 1 Certification
- Proven experience working on commercial air conditioning systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Desirable:
- Experience working within care homes, healthcare, or occupied commercial environments
- IPAF Licence
- PASMA Certification
- Experience with VRV/VRF systems (Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, etc.)
- Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge
- CSCS Skill Card
