Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in housing groundworks to join their commercial and pre-construction team based in Huyton. You will play a key role in securing new projects by preparing accurate and competitive tenders for residential groundworks and infrastructure packages.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing detailed estimates and tender submissions for housing groundworks projects
  • Pricing roads, sewers, drainage, foundations, external works, and infrastructure packages
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Producing accurate take-offs for labour, plant, materials, and subcontract works
  • Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
  • Liaising with clients, engineers, and operational teams throughout the tender process
  • Managing multiple tenders and meeting strict submission deadlines
  • Maintaining estimating records, cost databases, and supplier information
  • Assisting with handovers to commercial and delivery teams following project awards

What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within housing groundworks or civil engineering
  • Strong knowledge of residential infrastructure packages including roads, sewers, and drainage
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with national or regional housebuilders preferred
  • Full UK driving licence
  • HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or Civil Engineering desirable
