Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead their finance function and support strategic business performance.
The Role
- Coordinating the day-to-day financial management of the business
- Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports to support senior leadership and Board-level decision making
- Managing ERP system compliance, ensuring financial data integrity and compliance with HMRC requirements, including VAT and CIS
- Completing monthly balance sheet reviews and key control account reconciliations
- Producing and managing cash flow forecasts, providing financial insight to support business decisions
- Acting as a key financial contact for clients and stakeholders to support income generation and commercial performance
- Managing internal and external audit processes
- Identifying and implementing improvements to financial systems, controls, and reporting processes
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team while promoting a strong Finance Business Partnering approach across the business
- Providing meaningful financial and non-financial performance reporting, including sustainability and social value metrics
- Deputising for the Finance Director where required and representing the finance function in key business meetings
- Supporting wider business and finance initiatives as part of continuous improvement programmes
The Ideal Candidate
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Finance Business Partner or Senior Management Accountant role
- Experience managing or overseeing a finance function and developing team members
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to support Commercial and Operational teams
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge, including UK GAAP
- Experience preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial systems knowledge
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or another project-based environment would be advantageous
