We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Air Conditioning Engineer to join a specialist mechanical contractor operating across commercial and care environments throughout the UK. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with an immediate start available, offering long-term, stable work for the right candidate. Please note: this role involves regular UK-wide travel, so flexibility to work away from home when required is essential.

The Role: You will be responsible for carrying out the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of commercial air conditioning systems within live care home and commercial environments. Duties will include:

  • Installation and commissioning of commercial air conditioning systems
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
  • Fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of HVAC equipment
  • Working on split systems, multi-split systems, VRV/VRF systems, and heat pumps
  • Refrigerant leak detection and repairs
  • System testing and performance checks
  • Completing service reports and compliance documentation
  • Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Working within live care home and commercial environments
  • Travelling to sites across the UK as required

Requirements:

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or equivalent
  • F-Gas Category 1 Certification
  • Proven experience working on commercial air conditioning systems
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience working within care homes, healthcare, or occupied commercial environments
  • IPAF Licence
  • PASMA Certification
  • Experience with VRV/VRF systems (Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, etc.)
  • Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge
  • CSCS Skill Card
