A well-established and highly respected specialist contractor with a turnover in excess of £10 million is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team in Carlisle.
Operating across the commercial construction sector, the business delivers high-quality interior fit-out, refurbishment, and specialist finishing projects throughout the UK. With a strong reputation for quality, repeat business, and long-standing client relationships, the company continues to secure major projects across a variety of sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, leisure, and residential developments.
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the commercial aspects of interior fit-out and refurbishment projects from pre-construction through to final account
- Preparing and managing project budgets, valuations, and cost reports
- Producing accurate CVRs and financial forecasts
- Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and accounts
- Supporting the operational team to ensure projects are delivered on budget and to programme
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Assisting with risk management and contractual matters
- Ensuring commercial processes and procedures are maintained throughout the project lifecycle
The successful Quantity Surveyor will have:
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- A strong background in interior fit-out and refurbishment projects
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Good knowledge of standard forms of contract
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Full UK driving licence
