An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a successful and growing residential developer delivering high-quality new build housing schemes across the North West. This role is ideal for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to further develop their career within a supportive commercial team, gaining exposure to all aspects of the surveying function while working on exciting residential developments.
The Role
Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will assist with the commercial management of multiple new build housing developments from inception through to completion. Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with cost reporting and budget management
- Supporting subcontractor procurement and tender analysis
- Processing subcontractor payments and valuations
- Assisting with variations and change control
- Monitoring project costs and forecasting expenditure
- Preparing reports and commercial documentation
- Supporting the agreement of final accounts
- Working closely with site, technical and commercial teams
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Experience working within a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveying role
- Exposure to the construction industry, ideally within residential development
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good understanding of construction processes and commercial principles
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
- Experience working for a housebuilder, main contractor or residential developer
- Exposure to new build housing projects
- HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline
- Ambition to progress towards a Quantity Surveyor position
