Our client is a long-established and highly respected civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with a history spanning more than 150 years. Operating across the UK, they deliver a diverse range of projects within the water, highways, drainage, flood alleviation, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

With an annual turnover in excess of £100 million, the business has established itself as a leading name within the civil engineering market, offering clients a fully integrated service through a range of specialist divisions. Their continued success is driven by a strong pipeline of secured work, long-term framework agreements, and a commitment to delivering high-quality projects safely and efficiently.

Due to continued growth and a healthy order book, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their commercial team based in Bolton.

As Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in the preparation and submission of competitive tenders across a broad range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Working closely with operational, commercial, and pre-construction teams, you will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates and supporting the successful acquisition of new business opportunities.

As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil engineering projects.
  • Reviewing tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
  • Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions during the tender process.
  • Supporting negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

The successful Senior Estimator will have:

  • Proven experience in an Estimator or Senior Estimator role within the civil engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure projects including highways, water, drainage, utilities, or general civils.
  • Experience pricing projects ranging from small works through to multi-million-pound contracts.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • Experience working with estimating software and Microsoft Office packages.

Full UK driving licence.

Basic salary of £65,000 - £90,000 depending on experience.
