About the Company
Our client is an established specialist construction business delivering technical design solutions across a range of building projects. With a strong focus on quality, technical accuracy and project delivery, the business works closely with clients, consultants and project teams to develop practical solutions from design through to construction. Due to continued growth, the business is looking to appoint an experienced Rainscreen Designer with strong Autodesk Revit and BIM experience to join its technical team.
The Role
As a Rainscreen Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed technical designs and drawings for façade and building envelope projects. Working closely with project teams, clients, consultants and other stakeholders, you will develop designs that are technically accurate, practical and suitable for construction. You will use Autodesk Revit BIM software to develop and coordinate detailed 3D models and technical drawings, supporting projects through the design and construction stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing detailed rainscreen and façade designs
- Developing technical drawings and 3D BIM models using Autodesk Revit
- Preparing detailed construction and installation drawings
- Producing plans, elevations, sections and technical details
- Coordinating designs with architectural and structural information
- Reviewing architectural and technical drawings
- Developing practical and buildable design solutions
- Identifying design issues and proposing suitable solutions
- Ensuring designs are suitable for manufacture and installation
- Supporting design development from initial design through to construction
- Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
- Incorporating project specifications and technical requirements into designs
- Maintaining accurate drawing and design records
- Supporting project and site teams with technical queries
- Working to project programmes and deadlines
- Collaborating with the wider design and technical team
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Rainscreen Designer, Façade Designer or similar
- Strong experience designing rainscreen/façade systems
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit BIM software
- Experience producing detailed technical and construction drawings
- Strong understanding of construction detailing
- Experience working with 3D BIM models
- Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Good understanding of building envelope construction
- Strong understanding of buildability and practical construction
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Relevant design, construction or technical qualification preferred
