Our client, a well-established electrical contractor, is seeking an experienced High Voltage Contracts Manager to develop and lead a new High Voltage profit centre within an existing business unit. This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for operational delivery, commercial performance, business development and people strategy.
You will take ownership of growing a sustainable pipeline of HV work while setting the standards for safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop the High Voltage profit centre, aligning operational delivery with wider business objectives.
- Full P&L ownership, including budget development, forecasting, cash flow, cost control and order management.
- Drive high standards of health & safety, quality and continuous improvement in line with company HV/LV Safety Rules.
- Manage contracts from award through to completion, ensuring appropriate commercial and operational controls are in place.
- Define project scope, objectives and resource requirements to ensure technically sound and commercially viable delivery.
- Proactively develop new and existing client relationships, identifying HV opportunities and delivering tenders and quotations.
- Set clear performance objectives to create a high-performing, accountable culture aligned to business strategy.
- Improve efficiency and profitability through proactive cost management and process optimisation.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
- Take a lead role in people management, including recruitment, coaching, performance management and workforce development.
- Proven experience in building, managing and developing teams within an engineering or contracting environment.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with demonstrable experience managing P&L and budgets.
- Track record of business development, sales growth and increasing profitability.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- In-depth knowledge of the HV/LV electrical engineering services sector and associated markets.
- Higher qualification in Electrical Engineering (desirable).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in managing an engineering or contracting business or division.
- IOSH or SMSTS (Health & Safety for Managers).
