An established construction contractor is seeking an Estimator or Senior Estimator to strengthen its preconstruction team. This role will suit an experienced Building Estimator or Senior Estimator with a strong commercial mindset and a proven track record of delivering two-stage and framework tenders.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of two-stage and framework tenders
- Develop comprehensive cost build-ups from tender documentation and design information
- Drive pricing strategies, highlighting cost efficiencies, construction options, and commercial risk
- Prepare and distribute work packages to the supply chain to secure competitive and compliant returns
- Review and assess subcontractor pricing, producing detailed cost breakdowns and tender analyses
- Work closely with bid, design, and commercial teams to finalise submissions
- Maintain regular dialogue with clients, consultants, and suppliers throughout the tender process
- Assist with negotiations following tender submission and support transition to project delivery teams
- Produce cost plans, feasibility estimates, and market benchmark data
- Contribute to tender interviews, bid reviews, and clarification meetings
- Attend site visits and support post-project reviews and knowledge sharing
- Assist with preconstruction documentation and qualitative bid content where required
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes, modern methods of construction, and market trends
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable estimating experience within the construction sector, with exposure to multiple project types
- Strong working knowledge of subcontract procurement and competitive tendering
- Experience using industry estimating tools such as Conquest, Bluebeam, CostX, or similar
- Familiarity with JCT forms of contract
- Confident interpreting drawings, specifications, and contractual documentation
- Able to manage and prioritise multiple tenders simultaneously
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
- Comfortable presenting to clients and senior stakeholders
- Broad construction knowledge, including assessment of alternative construction solutions
- High standard of written and verbal communication
