We're currently working with an established contractor who are looking to strengthen their team with an experienced
Contracts Manager .

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than simply overseeing a project from a distance.

The successful candidate will have a genuine influence on how contracts are run, how teams perform and ultimately how projects are delivered.

You'll be overseeing
multiple groundworks and civil engineering projects , working alongside Site Managers, Engineers and the wider delivery team to make sure everything stays on track.

That means keeping a close eye on programmes, resources, quality, commercial performance and health & safety, while being proactive when issues arise.

A big part of the role will be
leading people .

We're looking for someone who can get the best out of their teams, communicate clearly and create a culture where people take ownership and work well together.

You'll need to be comfortable challenging when necessary, but equally willing to support and develop the people around you.

The role
You'll be involved across the full lifecycle of your contracts, including: Overseeing several live projects and ensuring they are progressing against programme Working closely with Site Managers and operational teams to coordinate delivery Managing resources, labour, plant and subcontractors effectively Monitoring project performance and addressing any problems before they become bigger issues Maintaining strong relationships with clients and other key stakeholders Keeping a close eye on commercial performance, costs and variations Ensuring projects are delivered safely and to the required quality standards Supporting and developing Site Managers and other members of the delivery team Providing clear communication between the site teams and senior management
About you
You'll need a solid background in
groundworks or civil engineering
and proven experience managing contracts at a senior level.

We're particularly interested in people who have progressed beyond managing individual sites and have experience taking responsibility for
multiple projects and teams .

You'll be someone who is organised and commercially aware, but also practical enough to understand what is happening on the ground.

You'll be confident dealing with clients, subcontractors and your own teams and won't be someone who waits for problems to solve themselves.

Most importantly,
you'll be a people person and a leader .
