About the Company
Our client is a well-established and growing construction contractor delivering high-quality projects across the North West. Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join their finance team and support the day-to-day running of the finance function.
The Role
- Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently
- Assisting with supplier statement reconciliations and resolving invoice queries
- Preparing payment runs and supporting the Accounts Payable function
- Posting bank transactions and carrying out daily bank reconciliations
- Assisting with credit control and maintaining accurate customer accounts
- Supporting month-end processes, including journals and account reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity within the finance system
- Assisting with VAT and CIS administration where required
- Providing administrative support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team
- Supporting continuous improvements across finance systems and processes
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, or Accounts Administrator role
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience using accounting or ERP systems would be advantageous
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- Experience within construction or a project-based environment would be beneficial but is not essential
