We are seeking an experienced Finishing Site Manager for a site-based role on a housing site in the PE28 postcode area (near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire).
This is a contract position starting immediately, with an expected duration of approximately 4 months, focusing on the final phases through to project completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as the Health & Safety lead on site, including setting up and managing standard forms, risk assessments, method statements, COSHH, site inductions, permits to work, inspections, and record keeping.
- Review and approve suppliers' and subcontractors' health & safety documentation.
- Provide support to the commercial manager and contribute to monthly progress reports.
- Manage short-term programming to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate design with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Oversee procurement of suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, plant, labour, and materials.
- Handle plant, labour, and material returns.
- Manage project risks in terms of time and cost, implementing mitigation procedures.
- Lead site meetings, subcontractor weekly meetings, design team meetings, and internal developer meetings with senior management.
- Liaise with the office-based operations team for customer management.
- Prevent and resolve disputes effectively.
- Ensure comprehensive document management and record keeping.
- Proven experience in a similar Finishing Manager or Site Manager role within construction, ideally on residential or developer-led projects.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid qualification highly desirable).
- Excellent project management, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers, and multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Immediate availability essential.
