We are recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Site Engineer to join a principal contractor on a major industrial and logistics development in Fareham. This is a long-term freelance role, expected to run for 60 weeks, starting immediately.
You’ll be working closely with the site management team, taking full responsibility for setting out duties and ensuring accurate, high-quality delivery across all phases of the build.
Key Responsibilities:- Setting out for groundworks, drainage, steel frame, concrete slabs, and infrastructure packages
- Interpreting technical drawings and ensuring works are carried out to spec
- Managing QA and as-built documentation
- Working closely with subcontractors and site management to maintain progress
- Using GPS/robotic instruments for precision work
- Coordinating with the design team to resolve on-site queries
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on large-scale industrial or logistics projects
- Proficient with modern setting out equipment (Leica/Trimble/GPS robotic total stations)
- Strong understanding of structural and civil packages
- Ability to work independently and as part of a site team
- CSCS card (essential)
- Engineering qualification (HNC/Degree or equivalent)
- 60-week contract with consistent workload
