An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join a Tier 1 contractor on a landmark £100m+ Build-to-Rent (BTR) high-rise scheme in Leeds. This contractor has a secured, long-term workload in the Leeds region, offering not just a flagship project but genuine continuity and future progression.
This role is positioned as Site Number 2, working closely alongside the Project Manager to lead site operations, drive performance, and support the successful delivery of a major multi-room residential scheme.
The Role
As Senior Site Manager, you will take day-to-day responsibility for site operations, leading the site team and coordinating works across a live, complex build. You will play a key role in planning, quality assurance, health & safety, logistics, and team leadership, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety
- Take ownership of H&S performance on site
- Lead and close out H&S actions, setting standards through example
- Enforce company procedures and promote a strong “don’t walk by” culture
- Champion DIR initiatives and proactive site safety
- Overall responsibility for site QA and compliance
- Ensure QA procedures are followed and records are maintained correctly
- Review drawings against specification, contract, and preferred details
- Challenge poor-quality workmanship and drive continuous improvement
- Work closely with the Project Manager to produce weekly work plans
- Lead site logistics planning and labour management
- Coordinate subcontractors and chair contractor meetings
- Report progress, risks, and issues clearly to the Project Manager
- Support programme development and recovery where required
- Attend and contribute to client meetings
- Develop and mentor junior site team members
- Work collaboratively with the M&E Manager and Design Manager to ensure design intent is delivered on site
- Contribute to scope reviews, preambles, pre-let meetings, and subcontractor orders
- Work closely with the Quantity Surveying team to monitor and report costs
- Understand contractual obligations throughout the supply chain
About You
- SMSTS, CSCS (Management), First Aid – essential
- Temporary Works Coordinator – essential
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Senior Site Manager on high-value, multi-room schemes
- Proven experience leading site teams with strong commercial awareness
- Strong communicator with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working flexibly when project stages require longer hours
- Confident IT user with strong reporting capability
- Able to provide references from previous multi-room projects
