We are currently seeking 2 experienced Senior Site Engineers to join a major main contractor on a 40-week industrial unit project in Greater London. The project will involve groundworks through to completion, providing an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers to play a key role throughout the full construction programme.
As a Senior Site Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering support across the project, ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely and in accordance with the design and programme. Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting out and surveying for groundworks, foundations, drainage, slabs and associated works
- Providing engineering support from initial groundworks through to project completion
- Checking drawings, specifications and technical information
- Carrying out quality assurance and dimensional control
- Liaising with the Site Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors and design team
- Producing and maintaining accurate site records
- Monitoring works against drawings and specifications
- Identifying and resolving technical issues on site
- Supporting subcontractor coordination and progress
- Ensuring works are completed to the required quality and tolerances
- Maintaining a strong focus on health, safety and environmental requirements
The successful candidates will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Engineer on major construction projects
- Strong setting-out and surveying experience
- Previous experience working on groundworks and reinforced concrete
- Experience on industrial, commercial or similar large-scale projects
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and engineering principles
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Relevant engineering/construction qualifications
- Proficiency with surveying equipment and relevant engineering software
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a site team
