Freelance Health & Safety Manager – New Build Industrial Project
Location: Northampton | Project: Large Industrial Unit (New Build) | Contract until March 2026
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a major new build industrial unit project in Northampton. This is a freelance role running through until March 2026, offering stability and a high-profile scheme.
The Role:
As the site-based Health & Safety Manager, you’ll be the go-to person for all daily safety matters. You’ll walk the job, flag issues, offer proactive guidance, and ensure safety compliance across all packages.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducting daily H&S site walkarounds
- Supporting the site team with toolbox talks, method statements & RAMS
- Liaising with subcontractors to ensure best practice is followed
- Identifying and addressing near misses, risks and hazards
- Keeping accurate records and assisting with audits and inspections
- Advising management on any corrective actions needed
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum)
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
- Valid CSCS Card
- Proven experience in a similar H&S role on large-scale construction projects
- Confident communicator who can build positive relationships across site
