Construction Planner Company: Established Regional Contractor Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 Benefits: Extensive benefits package Location: Derby - East Midlands The Opportunity: We are working with a well-established, family-owned construction business with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the Residential, Logistics, Industrial and Commercial sectors. With projects typically ranging from £2m to £80m, the business has built its reputation around collaboration, transparency and a people-focused approach. Due to continued growth across the East Midlands, they are looking to appoint a Construction Planner to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some construction planning experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and growing organisation. The Role As Construction Planner, you will work closely with the project delivery teams to develop, monitor and manage project programmes, ensuring that projects are effectively planned and progress is accurately reported. You will gain exposure across a variety of projects and will play an important role in supporting the successful delivery of programmes from pre-construction through to completion. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Scheduling * Assist in the development and maintenance of detailed project programmes. * Support the preparation of Design Deliverable, Procurement, Commissioning and Completion Programmes. * Assist with critical path analysis and monitoring to ensure project milestones are achieved. * Review construction drawings, specifications and bills of quantities to help develop robust build sequences. * Monitor programme progress and highlight potential delays or areas of concern. Programme Development & Coordination * Assist in developing integrated project programmes covering all stages of delivery. * Contribute to Information Required and Procurement Schedules. * Review subcontractor programmes and assist with ensuring they align with the overall project programme. * Support the project team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date programme information. Collaboration & Reporting * Work closely with site-based Project Managers and delivery teams. * Provide accurate programme information and reporting to the wider project management team. * Assist with the preparation of regular programme reports and updates. * Monitor changes to critical paths, activities and key project milestones. * Support project teams in achieving programme and business unit targets. About You We are looking for someone who is keen to develop their career within construction planning and has some relevant industry experience. You will ideally have: * Some experience in a construction planning or project planning role, or relevant exposure to planning activities. * An understanding of construction programmes and project planning principles. * The ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and bills of quantities. * Experience or familiarity with project planning software and systems. * Strong IT skills and good attention to detail. * Good analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships with project teams and subcontractors. * A genuine desire to develop and progress within a planning career.
