The Role:

Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, you'll support the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account. They work across a diverse range of sectors including healthcare, education, industrial, high rise residential, commercial and mixed-use developments from £10m - £80m.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with cost management and budget control across multiple construction projects.
  • Preparing subcontractor enquiries, procurement documentation and contract administration.
  • Valuing subcontractor applications and processing payments.
  • Assisting with the preparation of interim valuations, cost reports and final accounts.
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting the management of variations, change control and contractual documentation.
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor role within a main contractor or relevant construction environment.
  • A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or currently working towards one).
  • Good commercial awareness and an eagerness to develop your contractual knowledge.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • A proactive attitude and genuine ambition to develop your career.
