Freelance Quantity Surveyor – Coventry £400–£450 per day | Outside IR35 | Ongoing Contract

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor for an ongoing contract based in Coventry, working on a £9m construction scheme delivered under the NEC form of contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor on a long-term project, with a competitive day rate and the flexibility of an Outside IR35 engagement.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of the project from site, ensuring cost control, contractual compliance, and successful commercial delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all commercial aspects of a live £9m project.
  • Preparing, reviewing and agreeing valuations and applications for payment.
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and accounts.
  • Identifying, pricing and managing compensation events.
  • Cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Working closely with the project and site teams to maximise commercial performance.
  • Supporting the successful commercial delivery of the project through to completion.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Experience managing projects of similar value.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent) preferred.
