Buildforce Solutions are proud to be partnering with a leading Tier 1 contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager for a major new-build student accommodation development in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK's most respected contractors and take the lead on a flagship scheme valued at approximately £40 million.
The development comprises a large-scale, purpose-built student accommodation scheme in Bristol, delivering high-quality residential accommodation and associated communal facilities. The project is currently moving through pre-construction and is scheduled to start on site in August 2026, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to become involved from the outset and drive the project through to successful completion.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the delivery of the project, ensuring programme, quality, safety, and commercial objectives are achieved. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the project from site commencement through to handover
- Leading site management and delivery teams
- Coordinating subcontractors and specialist packages
- Maintaining strong client and consultant relationships
- Driving programme performance and project milestones
- Working closely with commercial and design teams
- Managing health, safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Reporting regularly to senior management on project performance
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager working for a main contractor
- Previous experience delivering large-scale residential, student accommodation, mixed-use, or commercial schemes
- Experience managing projects valued in excess of £20m+
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to project delivery
